GET BETTER EQUIPMENT FOR LESS... HERE'S HOW
IBM invented 9 track tape and the world adopted their specifications for interchange of data. The integrated circuit "chip" made possible low cost "personal" computers, obsoleting most minicomputers. Minicomputers, dismantled, are a source of many good parts suitable for reconditioning. Fast 9 track magnetic tape drives "pull tape" and access data for short periods of time, and so accumulate few operational hours. For this reason, many 9 track tape drives are low time when salvaged.

Because the 9 track tape standards have been unchanged for over 20 years, new machines have no better performance or capability. In order to lower cost, newly manufactured tape drives use fewer components, or inferior components in their construction, lowering reliability and sacrificing tape handling specification (tape speed and tension tolerance) compliance.
WILTEC's reconditioned tape drives meet interchange specifications, are reliable(WILTEC offers limited warranties to two years), fast units which are well built and can be expected to provide outstanding service. And you profit by having your high quality drive subsidized by the tape drive's first minicomputer owner!
